The increasing flow of greed that fuels the white collar crime machine of this country costs the American people approximately 300. Billion Dollars a year according to studies at the end of 2008. Companies Bankrupted, Employee Retirements Lost, Layoffs of Thousands and the sheer fleecing of well established business'. What becomes of the convicted CEO's and War Lords holding the economical weapons of mass destruction? Well, they get sentenced to prison of course. As a special bonus to all Americans, WE get to pay for them a little more. We are generous enough to fund their housing, dining, medical, dental, (how many of us have free dental? I know I don't!), security, conjugal visits, education, psychological therapy, TV, Newspapers, and gym membership? Almost makes you want to join the executive mile high club, because in essence that's what they are doing to us. So I had an epiphany!! I said what if we;
- Sold all their assets (Mansions, Yachts, Cars, Villas, Jets, Stocks, Jewelry, Toupees, St. Barts's Get Away, Aspen Lodge, etc)
- Yanked their kids out of private and ivy league schools. I hear there are some great community colleges out there.
- Set them up in a nice little studio apartment in middle America
- Furnish them with a new pretty ankle bracelet
- Gave them 20 dollars a day to eat with
- Put them to work at a real job, not unlike, shall I say, "Joe the Plumber".
- Take the money from their assets, combine them with the windfall of cash from their new employment and pay restitution to their financial victims as well as the American people.
I don't know, it was just a thought, but what I do know is, in this economy I can no more afford to provide that kind of funding for myself let alone the people who have put me in the hole I am in.
